Light pollution in maps
The map here under is made by measuring the sky luminance in 1500 locations in assignment by the provinces of Gelderland, Zeeland, Overijssel, Utrecht and Zuid-Holland and the municipalities of Hengelo, Amsterdam and Texel. The map represents the sky luminance of the zenith ( point right above your head) in that part of the Netherlands. How lower the amount, how darker the sky. In the gray area you can see more than 2000 stars, in the blue area more than 1000, in the green 750, yellow 500, in the red area 100 and in the white area even less. |
